Details of the First Degree Course - Shoden
For the Course weekend it is recommended that you wear loose comfortable clothing, and please bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee etc will be provided.
On the Course weekend we will talk about the
origins and history of Reiki, where it comes from, and the Reiki principles. During the first day you will be given three, simple but powerful connections called Reiju empowerments. This traditional Japanese empowerment will open you up to the Reiki energy, allowing it to flow through you, enabling you to give Reiki treatments to your family and friends and those around you. These simple empowerments will stay with you forever.
We will do some self-healing meditations and self-healing treatments, so you can feel the energy making you stronger and creating a clearer channel for Reiki, energy exercises called Hatsu Rei Ho will also be taught. It is a very important discipline to treat yourself everyday. The Western approach to self-healing will also be covered giving you a strong foundation in both systems.
Energy exercises will be demonstrated and practiced, sometimes in pairs or by yourself, these are fun to try and a very effective way of experiencing energy from a different perspective e.g.: Feeling Energy between your hands; in a partners' hands; pushing someone off balance using Energy and playing with 'Energy Balls'!
During the afternoon we will talk about treating other people and how this is done. I will introduce Reiji Ho, which is 'scanning' the body with your hands allowing your intuition to be involved, you will then practise this exercise and discuss how it felt for you. When this has been completed you will pair up with another student and give a full Reiki treatment, front and back of the body, and get feedback from them before you swap!
We will do some more meditation exercises for you to end the day calmly and peacefully.
Second Day
On the morning of the second part of the Course, we will review and go over the things we did on the previous day and questions and any points can be raised.
A further treatment will be given and received by each student giving them a strong knowledge and foundation for the 'hands on' approach and Reiji Ho.
A general overview of a Japanese self-treatment meditation will be given and how self-treatments are done in the Western way.
A course manual and a CD containing all the the meditations and course work will be given.
A Certificate will be awarded after completion of the Course.
