Details of the Second Degree Course - Okuden
For the day of the Course weekend it is recommended that you wear loose, comfortable clothing and please bring a packed lunch. Water, tea and coffee etc will be provided.
Reiki Second Degree is known in the west as 'Practitioner Level'. It is essential training for anyone wanting to set up a practice as a professional. Usui Sensei intended this course to be for personal development only, acheiving a much deeper level spiritually. A gap of at least three months needs be taken before the Second Degree, to enable students to experience and practice Reiki on their family, friends and themselves. When the time is right to progress, Reiki will let you know! Not everyone will go forward to this level; it is entirely up to the individual and their own spiritual path.
We start the Course by discussing and reviewing the experiences the students have had since obtaining their Reiki First Degree. how people, who have received Reiki by the student felt and the feedback; and how students feel within themselves.
At Reiki Second Degree three symbols are introduced and detailed information will be given on their individual meaning, pronunciation and how they are used when giving a Reiki treatment. A range of different ways the symbols are used will be explained when used in practice.
Three empowerments will be given during the course, and you will be introduced to energies of the three symbols. You will use the energies of the symbols on each other to practice their effects and learn how the symbols are used to treat others and also yourself. The symbol for distance healing creates a state of oneness and can also be used for treating someone; it does not however, produce energy! It creates a state where you can move beyond time and space. So I will instruct you how to draw it; how to say its name; and how to send it.
A meditation exercise will be carried out before the close of the first day.
Second Day
At the beginning of the second part of the Course we will do a comprehensive review of the things we did on the previous day. Students can raise questions and any points they wish to discuss.
We will go through the symbols again to make sure they are fully understood and students will demonstrate their knowledge by using them on each other in various ways.
The Western approach to Reiki and how it differs from its original form will be discussed and demonstrated. We will do a Reiji Ho exercise, which opens students up to the Energy. This technique develops your intuition and intent by guiding your hands to the individual needs of the person receiving Reiki.
A certificate will be given on completion of the Course.
